The overproduction of melanin appears as discolouration, or pigmentation on the surface of your skin. This is often a result of your skins defence mechanism and a result of a change in either the internal or external environment. There are many contributing factors as well as types of pigmentation.
Factors which may contribute to your pigmentation include:
– Genetic and Racial Factors
– Product Incompatibility
– Stress
– Hormonal Imbalances
– Drug Use
– Excessive cuticle build up in the skin
– UV Exposure & Sun Damage

Pigmentation on the skin can be classified as either passive or inflammatory. Passive is the result of an internal imbalance and often the underlying issue needs to be addressed or the pigment will likely re-appear. Inflammatory is the result of the external environment and often easier to remove, although in both cases prevention is always the best form of protection.
At Elements our treatment plans are designed to ensure we maintain the integrity of the skin, working on rebuilding a health cell environment. For this reason, we very rarely perform any advanced pigmentation treatments without adequate preparation and having the client on a full home care routine.
*Clients have had a combination of topical product use at home, IPL, chemical peels and maintenance treatments are required.
All dermal treatments require commitment to professional treatments and your home care, we ask are clients to trust in our skills, our recommendations and the plan we create for them in order to achieve a successful skin journey with us.
